Should work fine: A fingertip pulse oximeter should give an valid reading if it can follow the pulse, which means the reading is valid if the pulse shown on the oximeter matches the patient's actual pulse. One can check on its accuracy by comparing it with other oximeters, such as those at the doctor's office. No machine is perfect, so any oximeter can malfunction... thus beware of unexpected oximeter results.
