What can i do to counter recurring knee effusions in the first 6 weeks after a partial menisectomy and lateral release?

Rest: Knee swelling after a lateral release is very common and , to a degree, expected. Avoid over exertion( excessive walking , stair climbing,etc.) Elevate leg @ end of your day w/ice pack. Work your quads isometrically( leg lifts). See your ORS if swelling persists.Most often the recurrent effusions( swelling) will be gone by 8-10 weeks post-op. Best of Luck!
