Dr. John Chiu answered

Confirmed?: Is the presence of fluid confirmed by your doctor and how long has this been present? In many cases this is the result of prolonged nasal congestion. If you have allergies, nasal steroid may help. If this is from a cold, nasal decongestant pill and/or spray (for up to 5 days) may be tried. ENT evaluation is needed if the problem has been present for >2 weeks.
