Just saw dr.to see if ear infection was really gone after 2nd round antibiotics or if i needed a longer dose...she seemed confused. said ear wasnt red and no fluid...but eardrum is opaque? does this mean that my infection is gone or not?

TM: When visualizing the tympanic membrane you should be able to see through the membrane to a degree and see the ear osscicles. Also there should be a cone of light seen in the anterior inferior portion of the drum. The drum should not be opaque. Now if redness and fluid gone and if you are not having fever or other symptoms probably another round of antibiotics not needed.
