IUD/bleeding: It is normal to have mild bleeding and some cramping whenever an IUD is inserted, but this is generally very brief. The discomfort is less if you have had vaginal delivery. Sometimes the insertion is incomplete, or uterine contractions force the IUD down into the canal, where bleeding/cramping becomes constant. If this is the case, see your gyn asap and have it removed and later reinserted.
