Mirena IUD: Sometimes the insertion of a Mirena does not place the IUD entirely in the uterus, or, uterine contractions can force the IUD into the cervical canal, which will produce cramping. Since it is now three months after insertion, get a serum HCG test to make certain you are not pregnant. If negative, see your provider for an exam.
