I have an acute gout attack. my doctor gave pain and anti inflam meds and puricos 300. should i wait for the gout to clear before taking the puricos? the leaflet says not to use puricos to treat a gout attack.

You are right: Puricos is Allopurinol and that is to be started between attacks and not during a gout flare up. Allopurinol is supposed to keep your uric acid low and reduce the frequency of gout attacks. Hope it helps.
