A member asked:

My doctor told me i don't need to take allopurinol everyday single day, that i can go every other day or every couple days to take it. i've only ever had gout twice in past 5-6 years and i'm 32. is this ok?

Yes: You should listen to your doctor. While oral meds are important, so is your DIET! Including adequate hydration. Find your triggers and avoid them. Common foods to limit or avoid: beef, organ meats, fatty foods, daily, alcohol, shell fish, and rhubarb. Good luck
