A member asked:

Is an abcessed tooth that needs extraction a "common" occurrence one to two times a year for most adults 60+ with mild to moderate perio issues?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: Tooth loss is never considered a normal or common occurrence. Amputation in response to infection is less preferable than eliminating the infection.
