Blood test results say my wbc is 11.45 and mpv is 12.8. should this be cause for concern in a patient whose family history is riddled with cancer? in addition to those results, my bun is 4. cause for concern?

These lab results: are not worrisome and are essentially normal. None of them are reflective of a cancer concern.

No: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, these results are not a cause for concern. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex, if you have sex. Get HPV vaccine

No: Stop worrying. Reference ranges are set so that a few percent of healthy people fall outside on either end for each test. Keep up cancer surveillance, don't smoke, and be glad for good health.
