I take metoprolol 50mg er. before i took it my bp was 30, my sys. and dia was below average. i never had heart problems before, or am i hypertensive.

Normal response: Metoprolol acts to slow down your heart rate. The ER is extended release. I’m assuming you meant HR of 30 instead of Blood pressure. If you feel faint or dizzy with that Heart rate on the 50 mg dose, let your doctor know so they can adjust the dosage.

Really can't follow: this. Blood pressure is made up of two numbers - higher (systolic) and low (diastolic). So I am not sure what is being referred to as "30". You haven't told us what your current blood pressure is - so there isn't a way to state if you have hypertension.
