Read below: DVT: swelling and pain that typically does not resolve (unless the clot has moved more proximally). Test to get if concerned is an duplex ultrasound. PAD: if your feet are warm, well perfused, you have good pulses in your legs, at your age having poor arterial circulation is rare. This is seen in people with vascular disease (htn, diabetes, smoking etc)

Leg pain: I would recommend evaluation by a vascular surgeon who will be able to determine if you have any circulatory issue, arterial or venous, as a source for her discomfort. This sporadic nature of her discomfort makes it less likely to be a circulatory issue, and also based on your comment of pain in her hips, there may be an underlying back issue.
