Examination: Taking a full history of the type of injury and examining the neck will be needed to answer this question - so will need to see a doctor in person and if uncertain tests such as X-ray may need to be consider. If you have fallen or been involved in a motor vehicle accident need to see a doctor immediately to have bony injury (fracture) excluded. All the best.
