Need more info: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, Faint IgG lambda band is more likely to be MGUS, however, other issues need to be examined, such as, what is the level of background un-involved immunoglobulins, hemoglobin level, serum calcium and creatinine levels and if need be x-ray examination of bones. Serum free light chain assay is useless for the differentiation.
