Micro. hematuria: Microscopic hematuria is defined as the presence of 3 or more red blood cells in urine and it is as frequent as 1 in 5 adults that otherwise have no symptoms. The workup includes history and physical examination. Most cases end up needing a repeat urine analysis, if they have no symptoms suggesting cause. Feel free to call back the office where you had the workup done and ask them what to do next.
