Varies: It depends on the purpose of the brace. The typical use for a brace in scoliosis is to control curve progression in a skeletally immature patient with a curve between 30 and 45 degrees. Most, although not all, 16 year old females are skeletally mature or nearly so. I would discuss the specifics of your case with a specialist.
