Increased risk: Being 44 yo you are at increased risk of having a baby with genetic disorder such s down syndrome A procedure such as CVS will give you a definite answer if the baby has downs syndrome and many such genetic abnormality. If you want to know this information, I would follow your doctor's recommendation
