Our 9 months old son's eye keeps tearing slightly for the past 2 weeks, but it is not red. he had a cold 3 weeks ago. should we see a doctor?

Observation is ok: unless there is redness of the eye or thick discharge. It sounds like he has mild obstruction of the nasolacrimal duct (tear duct) which was aggravated when the membranes in his nose were swollen from the cold. It may clear by itself, or he may need tear duct probing by an ped opthalmologist if not resolved by 12 months.
