I've been on omeprazole twice a day for a month now still experiencing symptoms. i will say they have decreased in severity but they are still present. i'm scheduled for endoscopy i am just very concerned about esophageal cancer.

Less likely: More likely will be esophageal ulcers. Esophageal cancer arising from GERD associated ulcers are a slow process and usually require 3 to 5 years for transformation even with presence of Barrett's Esophagitis. Have been evaluated or treated for H pylori and your fallowing GERD precautions
