had bouts of acid reflux for years, and had an endoscopy done in 2014 (normal). symptoms have returned and remained for a week. is esophageal cancer?

Very unlikely: It is very unlikely in a 31 year old. It is much more likely a recurrence of the reflux. Try an over-the-counter med such as Prilosec and see if it helps.

Keep follow up: Since you got answers from 2 doctors already, I will limit to complementary medicine. Take 1-2 teaspoon of honey 30 min before meals.
DGL- Deglycerinized licorice- can get it online or natural store.- follow directions on the bottle.
Esophageal cancer usually have some degree of difficulty in swallowing.
