Sounds normal: HPV sometimes causes anal cancer, but not cancers higher in the rectum or colon. Colonoscopy checks only for non-HPV cancers of the rectum or colon. A negative results is very reliable evidence you have no such problem, and also no polyps that could lead to later colon cancer. If you have further concerns, discuss them with the doctor who did your colonoscopy.

Some basics: By definition having HPV is an abnormal. It is very common,affecting more than 70% of women in some studies but it is an infection that in some cases can lead to cervical & other cancers. Your colposcopy allowed the doc to examine your cervix very closely for any evidence of a change that would suggest cancer or a pre-cancerous change & you had none. That might change in 5-10 yrs, but okay for now
