A member asked:

Is systolic bp more likely to be affected by high anxiety or activity immediately prior to testing (measuring bp) than diastolic?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Possibly: Systolic blood pressure tends to rise more than diastolic with exercise and stress. This is especially so in elderly people due to stiffer arterioles. In younger people diastolic blood pressure may also rise, but less so than systolic.
