Opioid paranoia: Tramadol (Ultram) is 1/100th the strength of morphine. The medical world are concerned about any use of controlled substances. Understand that you are walking into a powderkeg when you ask for pain medicine. On another note, don't discount the value of Cymbalta, Neurontin, Lyrica, amitriptyline, and other non-narcotic medications that could significantly/adequately manage your pain.
