No.: The appearance of cervical cells under the microscope is not affected by the presence of semen from the day before. No need to tell the doctor (he will see sperm reported on the pap smear interpretation).

Yes : Tell your doctor. Trauma to the cervix can cause inflammation that can be confused as abnormal. If you doctor uses a liquid based Pap smear technique, it will be less likely to have a false positive result.
