Cystic ovaries: Could have had a ruptured ovarian cyst causing your pain. If recurs will need to see your Gyn doc.

Ovarian cysts of the: size that were detected are unlikely to cause severe pain. Pelvic infection, ectopic (tubal) pregnancy, miscarriage, a displaced IUD and endometriosis can cause severe pain. Pain that originates in the appendix, bladder or rectum can cause pain that's perceived to be in the pelvis. While it's wise to talk with your GYN, it's also wise not to assume your pain is caused by ovarian cysts. Dr. Anne
