T2DM treatment: Was your A1C good BECAUSE you were taking 15 units daily of (I presume) some kind of insulin? If so, then stopping the insulin will result in an elevation in A1C, worse diabetes control, and a greater risk of diabetes complications. You should not stop any of your diabetes medications without consulting your doctor.
