A member asked:

I was diagnosed a couple years ago with type 2 diabetes and have been taking medication to lower my a1c. my a1c is now 5.7, am i still considered type 2 diabetic?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

"Type two diabetes" is representative of inadequate insulin utilization or production by your pancreas, and does not "go away". Best is to control carbohydrate intake, and be under a physician's guidance to maintain a low A1C.
