Pyelonephritis treated with 4 rounds of ciprofloxacin. 2 weeks later i still have swelling around my kidney (on ultrasound) and mild pain. i have no other symptoms, urine, crp and kidney function are okay. is this normal recovery or is it an abscess?

Sounds OK: If there were an abscess, the ultrasound should have found it. Persistent swelling by ultrasound doesn't sound unusual or worrisome. And it's pretty much impossible to have an abscess with a normal CRP. Discuss with your doctor if you remain concerned.
