Urethritis: Would be the most likely cause. You are right, you need a quick exam by a physician. In the absence of external ulcers, blisters, or bleeding skin lesions, the blood probably is from the urethra (opening at the tip of the penis). A urinalysis to look for infection, and possibly testing for causes of urethritis should be done IF symptoms persist.
