Sedation: Please mention your concerns to your doctor and s/he may sedate you and ensure proper pain relief. Do not forgo the needed medical examination. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form.

Prepare as needed: I would expect the doc has staff that can talk you through what is done with the procedure, the availability of sedation & local anesthetics, before you have it done. Give them a call & they can alert the doc to your concerns.
