Why is it considered good for the gut to fast once seasonally for 24 to 72 hours? what other health benefits would such fasting bring?

Cell repair : The fasted state helps with repair/regeneration of cells etc and may assist with maintaining insulin sensitivity (reduced cardiovascular and diabetes risk). Starts after about 12h post food. May if have medical conditions however need to discuss with your GP first
