A member asked:

I have allergy to benzocaine. this week i had a rxn to a dental anesthetic, swelling of cheek & throat. how long should i take benadryl? need tests?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Allergy: Should not have any of the caine medications. next time could have anaphylaxis. Most safe way to test is with an allergist. Consider getting Epipen. Benadryl may help in the first 48 hours.
