Why r u waiting?: If she is swelling badly, she needs to be taken immediately to her physician or dentist to determine the cause. You are not qualified to determine if she has decay... It could be in an area you cannot see, and she may have an abscess. Very dangerous situation.

Possible?: From what you are describing it could very well be a dental abscess, but the sure way to find out is to see your dentist or a children's dentist. It is a waste to go to a hospital er unless the swelling starts to inhibit breathing, because they can provide medicine for short term relief, but a dentist can do that and solve the problem, if it is dental in nature. Call now for an emergency appt!
