A member asked:

Can a type 1 diabetic person survive only by taking voglibose 0.3 mg table? and what are the possible effects if it is taken notwithstanding anything?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Unknown?: IVogilbose has not been approved for Type 1 DM and used in type 2. For a type 1 diabetic patient, I believe other therapy is needed. Of course the disease course and life span of either a type 1 or type 2 diabetic is going to depend on glucose control particularly looking at Hemoglobin A1c levels. Survival will depend on the effect of DM to organs like the heart kidney, and nerves for example
