Need More Info: If the black dot is in the same exact location of your previous cold sore, it could be an eschar or "scab" from the healing cold sore. More information would be needed before a more definitive answer can be provided.

Sores on palate: Good day; Perfect time to schedule an appointment with your dentist. If u don't have a convenient DDS as your primary care MD or check with local hospital.
