A member asked:

My veins on my left hand became very blue and hurt and then a large vein on my pointer finger began to hurt they went down but my finger/thumb hurt?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hand pain: Pain in veins usually means phlebitis but this is an unusual occurrence in the hand unless injury to the vein occurred. If there is constriction at the wrist by jewelry or thickened ligament, congestion in the veins could cause some discomfort. If symptoms persist, consult a physician for evaluation.
