Toe: This happened almost 8 months ago. If you have no symptoms then do nothing. If you have symptoms - depending on what they are I would suggest an X-Ray firt.

A few things: Sharp pains in the toes can be due to a bone spur, arthritis, nerve irritation, injury, poor fitting shoes among many other things. You may need to see a podiatrist and get x-rays to narrow down the possibilities and start treatment.

It's : It's hard to say without examining you whether you actually have an infection, an ingrown toenail, or another problem going on with your toe. Give your doctor a call and have them take a look at it. If your primary care doctor is unable to help you, you may want to contact a podiatrist in your area. If it is an infection, you may need antibiotics. If you have an ingrown toenail, they can cut out the piece of the nail that is ingrown - sometimes at the root of the nail - and apply a medication to stop the nail from re-growing in that spot and becoming ingrown again. In the meantime, make sure you are soaking your toe in warm water 2-3 times a day for 20 minutes at a time. If it is worsening instead of improving, or if you have increased redness, swelling, pain, drainage, or fever, call your doctor immediately.

Many things: Without specifics it is tough to say. There are many things that cause that type of foot pain. Fractures, bone and soft tissue tumors, infections... I would recommend evaluation by a podiatrist.
