A member asked:

I had a steroid shot yesterday for fluid behind my ear drum and a potential "growth" in my canal. how long does it take to work? ibuprofen ok 2 take?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Otolaryngologist: I believe that the steroid injection was an effort to reduce inflammation and/or swelling in your ear structures. Cholesteatomas are the common growths seen in the ear canal and these are usually removed surgically. I assume that an Otolaryngologist is supervising your case. If not, consult one. Take the ibuprofen with food. Steroids may take several days or more to reduce inflammation and fluid
