The EMG/NCS: test is a very unreliable (and UNCOMFORTABLE) diagnostic test in the diagnosis of lower extremity symptoms due to spinal cord/disc abnormalities. It can be normal when imaging shows herniated discs!! Hope this is helpful Dr Z
