? Dosage: Need to also know the concentration of the amoxicillin prescribed as well as how many times a day it is being prescribed. Please resubmit question with that information.

Yes: The high dose amount for amoxicillin which is generally what we prescribe for illnesses such as pneumonias and even ear infections would generally be at 6 ml twice a day for a 23 lb child.

Can't say: The usual dose of this med would depend on the concentration (mg/ml), how often it is given & what you are treating. Since you did not provide any of that information it is hard to say. If it is the 250/5 concentration and a simple ear infection, 8ml 2x a day would be a rather standard dose.If it were for a UTI, the dose would be high. If for the 400/5 concentration a bit high.
