A member asked:

Are follicle and corpus luteum ovarian cysts unmistakable in an ultrasound? that is, what are the chances of a cancerous cyst being mistaken for them?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Minimal: Cancerous tumors and normal functional cysts of the ovaries look very different and can be distinguished by ultrasound. The chance of misdiagnosis is very low but if there is any question, follow up testing would be recommended by your physician
