I went to the er today for an asthma attack and told to follow up with my pcp within 2 days. what's the reason for this? i have asthma meds.

Good to follow up: After visiting the ER it is wise to have follow up with your PCP early on. This allows to identify unresolved conditions or appropriateness of therapy. If you had an exacerbation while on medication it may mean that adjustments might be necessary.

Gauge response: Do you keep a daily diary with a peek flow meter readings and annotation of symptoms ? ER visits for asthma indicate a failure of your present asthma treatment plan. You need to get with your doc and get better control and learn how to anticipate and treat events before they get ER worthy.
