Poor control: The most common preventable reason for asthma attacks is exposure to allergens, in allergic people. The best approach is to see an allergist to thoroughly identify the allergens and other factors that trigger your asthma, and work with him/her to develop a treatment program that controls the asthmatic inflammation in your lungs and reduces your exposure to the factors that trigger it.
