Cause of Pain: There is a group of four muscles that control the shoulder joint. You may have a sprain of the rotator cuff. Or possibly a upper back disc that impinges on the nerve when it gets in a certain position. Need to have an examination to further answer your question. From the exam a diagnosis, and imaging tests might be needed. Treatment after a proper diagnosis will help you get better.
