Time will tell: The Stretta procedure treats reflux by essentially microwaving the muscles of the esophageal sphincter. This is another in a long line of "non-surgical" yet fairly agressive treatments for reflux. Each has it's pros and cons. Surgery is the most effective and longest-lasting but of course requires laparoscopic surgery. The endoscopic (Stretta, TIF, etc) are less risky but may not last very long.
