Extra TLC: Continue to handle that area gently for a few days. Warm salt water rinses can help keep that area clean, and will provide some soothing effect. Avoid rinse that are high in alcohol, they could slow down the healing time, and would sting.

Damaged gums: How is it damaged? Are they cut? Or just receding (going down over time). If cut, depending on how bad , warm salt water rinse may help. If recession than you may be using a hard toothbrush with too much pressure, or you may have gingivitis or periodontal disease that requires treatment. See your dentist for a consult.

Be gentle with it &: Minor cuts, abrasions, and bruises from accidents or poor technique while brushing will heal rather quickly on its own without any special treatment. Salt water rinses alternated with 3% hydrogen\water in a 50-50 mixture will help soothe and keep the area clean. If it seems more serious or you are in doubt, have your dentist take a look at it.
