A member asked:

Ear feels full and can't hear well out of it but no pain. doctor thinks it's ear infection. why no pain? would antibiotics fix ear?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It requires pressure: The pain experienced during most ear infections comes from a stretch of the ear drum caused by the buildup of pressure. The infection triggers more mucus buildup in the middle ear and the mass of germs+ debris pushes on the drum.Sometimes it can rupture. If the infection builds up slowly there may bee no pain. It could also just be fluid with no infection. The person looking at it has the best idea
