A member asked:

My niece has mrsa, it is covered. she played with grandpa who later same day played with my toddler. how likely is it that the infection spread to him?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Infection ?: MRSA is a common germ that is found almost anywhere in the environment. It is now responsible for up to 70% of pustules or abscesses drained in office patients. It is on banisters, door knobs, floors, shopping carts, etc. If GP develops any pustule, stye or abscess it might be from that exposure or just his environment. There is no need to treat the kid like she has EBOLA.
