A member asked:

Does my one year old absolutely need dairy milk? it's making him really constipated.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Needs calcium: Dairy is an easy source of the calcium needed for babies to build bone. They need the equivalent of 4 cups a day. If you are convinced cow mild constipates him there are alternatives. Soy & almond milks are formulated with calcium to meet that need.Goats milk supplemented with folate can also do it. You can also feed the kid antacid tablets (Tums wafers) that would do the job.
