Fluconazole : Yes, fluconazole is an anti-fungal proven effective against candidal infections of various sites and is NOT dependent on gender. Persons who are immunocompromised (due to diabetes, chemo/radiation therapy, chronic steroid use, HIV, or extremes of age, etc.) are more susceptible to developing candidiasis. Common sites of infection include the mouth, genitalia, urinary tract, and esophagus.
